2000+ Liberian Children Have Been Orphaned by Ebola
While some of these children have been placed in shelters or found new families, others have been taken in by aunts, uncles - the loved ones of the deceased. In a community already wrestling with poverty, families strive to give these children new homes, but many lack the financial means it takes to provide care for these additional children. So in response to this need, Liberian aid worker, Garmai Sumo, has partnered with Operation Blessing and the RYOT Foundation to develop the Ebola Orphan Project - a fund to help families who have taken in orphans care for them financially. With $54,000 we can support 171 orphans.
